Closing

Dear all,
Let me have a few words to end this online session of our course. I'm so proud that everyone join this session eagerly and have sent their ideas to questions raised. Although I know that some of you may have just copied expression or explanation from available references, which I think it's not wise and fair enough and, let alone, not a good way to an answer to a question, I still appreciate that you have already participated in this new way of learning process. I, perhaps, have not insisted that matter very clearly since the outset that next time I should have. Again, this is the first time and from which you and I can learn and reflect. Finally, I should end this course by this means as the course time ends this week too. I'm so sorry that I missed one week, my busy week, without saying anything, and may not provide enough feedback for your postings. Hopefully, we can improve similar sessions in the next future.

Assignment 4
1. A test is reliable when it can predict precisely the current ability of a test taker. Can you give more explanation or example about a reliable test.
2. There are some methods to measure the reliability of a test such as test-retest, split-half, equivalent test, Kuder –Richardson, Cronbach alpha, and judgment reliability. Please choose one to explain, when, why and how they will be used.

Read Chapter 4 – Ciri-ciri Tes bahasa yang Baik (Ref: Tes Bahasa Dalam Pengajaran pages 90-97).
  1.       Explain what it means by content, criterion, construct and face validity.
  2.     A test should be valid in terms of content. How do we know that a test is valid of its content. Give example.

Assignment 2

During this week, you will read again the same group's work and one of the other group's works of your own choice. Please provide your comments about what you learnt from them and how you will use the information if you have to construct a test yourself. Your comments should not be less than 150 words. Deadline for the first posting as usual is by Friday, midnight, and that of for the second is by Monday, midnight.
